Fleeting thoughts

maybe this is an unpopular opinion or maybe its not, not really sure but this movie was just so ok to me? like dont get me wrong, it was fresh getting smth with some sorta substance from netflix again but idk.. that was all there was to it. i watched this movie the night it came out i think and honestly, i was really excited to see what it mightve had in store bc it being a sony animations movie, i was alr hooked. but this movie confused me for a lot of reasons. i was mostly hooked on the movie bc i expected it to be a commentary on how boy groups are treated versus girl groups because thats what it seemed like from the trailer? but no, that wasnt it. it was apparently commentary on the industry? but it wasnt? it was just a conspiracy theory movie??? so confused. and dont even get me started on rumi being a demon. i thought they were gonna show that not all demons were evil (which is why i believed the movie to be a commentary on the industry, showing how those who are not "fit to be idols" like older idols for example or those with problems mentally and/or physically are discarded and are treated like outcasts aka demons by fans and/or the industry) and that rumi being a demon didnt make her different from society, i thought they were just gonna save the demon population from gwi-ma and show them a different way to be, like without eating souls but no? rumi, a demon, kills all the other demons and stays alive? as a demon? like what the fuck, that makes no absolute sense at all. what was the point of making her a demon then? just for fun? like i was very confused its like even with jinu too, its like i dont get it, what was the point of making him a human turned demon to make us empathize with him just to show that he chose to be a demon and was not a good person? like just for a reason to kill him off bc they just. idk, didnt know what to do with the whole ass story afterwards? like it was so confusing!!! like tbh, i would believe the plot was ai-ed. ik thats like insanely disrespectful to all the workers lmao but clearly they did not try and just wanted to create something for a quick cash grab. like dont get me wrong, i didnt hate it but its not for all the hype its getting when first of all, the movie wasnt even yuri at all and the movie wasnt even that great. even though in the romance aspect, i will give it kudos bc rujinu had me pumped, like i havent felt estatic for a well-written straight couple in a while like that was the only memorable part of the movie for me tbh. and dont even get me started on her aunt (i forgot her name) like everything abt the main plot was so underwritten it had me very disappointed now looking back on it. for all the bad things i have said tho, i would rewatch if need-be it wasnt the worst movie ever but it certainly wasnt the greatest and before i repeat myself over and over again, thats all i could really say about it.
